Long hiatus.. but I had to send this song across. A common recurring theme with any Maroon 5 song has been breakups. And this is another one from the same category. But what makes it so different is the treatment meted out to the lyrics. This is more mature and subtle. And of course, hits harder than the previous ones. Love the part where he says, “God damn my spinning head, decisions that made my bed.” The very fact that u continue cause you don’t want to get out of a relation is so true. But then, signs that Maroon 5 have matured are so clear. This song is just not about relationships, that’s a sugar coating about the reality of the song, which is bout the frustration with US foreign policy, ie. “I don’t believe its true anymore”. The metaphors are classy -comparing the country’s policies to a cheating lover…
